Burchett Basement 004

This project aimed to bring to light all of the curiosities found in the basement of my student house. It was filled with an array of graffiti, old furniture, paint buckets but also original features of the property such as an old wash basin and stove.

The content was documented in the style of an archive, heavily organised and categorised, the complete opposite of everything in the basement. The randomness of the items found there were brought to order in my own archive of the place. A ring binder comprising of six folders organising the objects into categories, each contained polaroids of the basement accompanied by descriptions of the items.

Every element of the archive is handmade, from the ring binder to the individual folders, also containing handwritten and typed material to really communicate the visual language of a real archive.
